Lots of stuff that too few think about. Thx. About 40 years ago, I wrote an essay on the importance of role models, especially for women for whom there were too few. Recently, I decided to update it by informally surveying women now in their twenties. It’s been uplifting!

Thx for asking. I’m procrastinating with the update. You may be a prompt to get back to it. I wrote the essay during a two-week grad course in creative non-fiction writing at Goucher College, where the founder of the category as coursework was. Jen likely knows about him, Lee Gutkind. Looking forward to hearing details of Phase 1 of your sabbaticals together after you reorient to stateside life.

I agree with you: the Fagles translation is a marvelous translation. Back in the day I had it in cassette tape. It’s beautiful to listen to.
